The coast, by candlelight

Maison Lumière is a small French kitchen on Thistle Court, cooking day-boat fish and Highland produce over fire. Seven tables, one seating, no hurry.

Our story

Twenty-six years of one small room, cooked to the tide.

We buy from the boats at Peterhead each morning and from six farms within an hour of the city. What arrives decides the menu — which is why it changes almost daily, and why we've never printed more than a week of it in advance.

“We don't chase stars. We chase the tide, and set a good table.”
